Dinner for Two

Dusk melts seductively
Into soft velvet
Night
Now darkness descends
Expectation
Revives

Forever, I’ll long to hold you again
On this date when I
Remember

This is our special night
When I set the table, anticipating, longing for you
Oh, I will always be longing for you.

    • That’s such a lovely compliment, Liz. Thank you! I have to say that I feel that penning an acrostic is a bit of a cheat, being more like a crossword to complete. Still, they’re good for ‘mental gymnastics’ – a phrase much used by my Latin teacher.
